The cost of tertiary education in Nigeria may be considered high and out of reach for some individuals due to their financial status, given limited financial resources. In some cases, these individuals do possess outstanding intellectual prowess or disposition to satisfactorily complete a degree program of their choice. Due to financial hardship, some people are left behind in fulfilling their life potential, hence, academic scholarships create a safety net for such individuals in helping them to fulfill their dreams and achieving their life ambitions.
Based on the philosophy of “No one left behind”, our goal is to target those individuals with outstanding intellectual abilities but are unable to obtain tertiary education due to financial hardship. Celestial Church of Christ, God of Wonders, often known as C.C.C. GOW or GOW is a Christian faith-based charitable entity that sources its financial resources from members’ voluntary giving. The revenues generated from voluntary giving are distributed across the C.C.C. GOW various programs, one of which is the Academic Scholarship Program. Our maiden edition (2021-22 session) of the scholarship award saw a mix of awardees from both high schools, universities, polytechnics, and colleges, whom are C.C.C. members. Moving forward, we will be focusing our resources on tertiary education (federal and state universities only) for those that are financially incapable of paying their tuition, financial hardship must be proven.
