RELEASE DATE: March 14, 2022

WEEK 10: (March 14 – March 20, 2022)

WEEKLY BIBLE READINGS:

Exodus 14: 13 – 14; Romans 9: 14 – 15 (NIV)

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.

INTERPRETATION

Have you ever wondered why God allows some things to happen? God gives us so much and yet, people chose to reject him as Lord and Saviour. In the Act of the Apostles, it was written; “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

It’s a widely told scriptural narration of how Moses led the Israelites into a valley toward the sea. With the sea in front of them and mountains on both sides, nowhere to go but back. When Pharaoh realized the Israelites’ situation, he sought to take advantage and trap them in the valley by ordering his army to close off the valley. It’s worthy of note that God himself orchestrated the Israelites being trapped in that valley. Why? He needs to demonstrate His mighty powers. The Israelites were scared, jittery and lost confidence in Moses’ leadership. Moses on the other hand demonstrated confidence and faith in God, owing to the fact that he did not embark on the mission on his own. Moses advised the people to fear not and stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

God shew mercy to the Israelites. The scripture says that not for he that willeth or runneth, it’s of God that shows mercy. He has compassion on who He chooses to have compassion on and mercy on who He chooses to have mercy on. You can’t teach God what to do or show Him what is good and what is bad. God knows all things and He knows how He wants them to play out and they shall surely play out the way he has planned it. God is the only one who is good. There is nothing that He does which is wrong or unrighteous. Everything He does is perfect and good no matter how you see it or understand it as a man.

Beloved, you might be in a situation where all hope seems to be lost, the Word today says you should fear not and let your mind be at rest. Your predicament might seem irredeemable, this is a reminder that God still specializes in performing wonders and turning difficult situations around. You do not need to understand, be still, trust God and seek His face, then His mercy shall be for you.

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael, thank you for your word. We pray that you have mercy on us, show us your way and help us to trust in you only even when it’s not making sense. Guide her hearts through difficult times and strengthen us to stand by your will. Show us the path to walk in and give us the Spirit to stand firm in your salvation. This and many more we ask for through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you and God bless. Shalom.
