INTERPRETATION

Mornings carry an awesome, divine mystery. Regardless of how yesterday felt, you can wake up at the dawn of a new day loaded with fresh new hopes and motivations. Regardless of how the previous season ended, you can often find yourself bursting forth with a new measure of strength, ready to run a new race at the announcement of a new season. But what happens when we are unable to put the inconsistencies, regrets and pains of yesterday behind us to focus on the new grace made available to run the new race that is set before us?

Everyone has equal opportunities every morning. Everyone has access to new mercies from the Lord every morning. But how we relate to what is provided is what makes the difference. The scriptures reveal in Lamentations 3:22 that God’s life is that which preserves us from being consumed. At the opening of a new season, we ought to be conscious of God’s love that has ensured that we are able to enter another fresh new season with fresh new hopes and that has kept us from ending our lives’ journeys with the last day or season.

Sometimes we wake up bearing the anxieties, uncertainties and burdens of the past day in our hearts. As much as we want to start a new day on a clean slate with vitality, it seems impossible for us to help ourselves from the unanswered questions lingering from yesterday’s assignments. Does God deal with unfinished business by discarding it and starting all over again?

Sometimes God expects us to forget all about yesterday and focus on what He is doing today. Isaiah 49:18 – Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Even when there seems to be an unfinished assignment from yesterday, God expects us to approach the new day with an assurance that He has supplied new mercies. New mercies mean that yesterday’s sins are forgiven. New mercies mean that yesterday’s inconsistencies no longer define you. New mercies mean that you can now hand over your burdens to God and He will supply you with help to navigate through the path. New mercies mean there is a release of new instructions and a new direction. New mercies mean that you can now rewrite a new story today, regardless of yesterday’s history.

More importantly, we must be conscious of the fact that new days and seasons also come with new challenges and because it is a new season, you may be clueless sometimes as to how to deal with the new problems. Yet God’s Word says His mercies are new every morning. This means that there is a divine allocation made available to meet the needs and challenges of each day. Walk in this consciousness and enjoy the abundant grace of God.

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael.

Father, thank You for Your mercy that meets us fresh each morning. In our weakness, be our strength. In our doubt, be our peace. Help us trust Your faithfulness today. Renew our heart, restore our hope, and remind us that we are never beyond Your grace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
