WEEKLY BIBLE READING:

Galatians 2:17-20

[17]But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

[18]For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

[19]For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

[20]I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

INTERPRETATION

The Christian life is a journey—a pilgrimage of faith, hope, and love. It is a path illuminated by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. As believers, we are called not only to profess our faith but also to live it out daily. In doing so, we find purpose, strength, and resilience even as we follow Jesus’ example. Jesus, the Son of God, walked among us as a humble carpenter, a healer, and a teacher. This shows us that we can find Jesus as a worthy example in every facet of life either in our profession or in the company of the brethren. His life was marked by compassion, selflessness, and unwavering obedience to God’s will. He healed the sick, forgave sinners, and challenged religious hypocrisy. His sacrificial death on the cross redeemed humanity, offering eternal life to all who believe.

As Christians, we are called to imitate Jesus. We ought to learn from His actions, His words, and His heart. We ought to seek to love unconditionally, serve selflessly, and extend grace to others. When faced with difficult decisions, we ought to ask, “What would Jesus do?” His example becomes our guide. The world can be a noisy place with its cacophony of desires, ambitions, and distractions. Materialism, pride, and instant gratification pull us away from our spiritual focus. Social media bombards us with comparison and envy. The pursuit of success often overshadows our pursuit of holiness.

In this noisy world, we must intentionally silence the distractions. Jesus withdrew to solitary places to pray many times (Mark 1:35). Likewise, we need moments of quiet reflection, away from the noise, to reconnect with God. We must discern what truly matters and prioritize our relationship with Him. Resilience is the ability to bounce back after setbacks. As Christians, we face trials—personal, relational, and spiritual. Yet, our faith provides an anchor. Hebrews 12:1-2 encourages us to run the race with endurance, fixing our eyes on Jesus. When storms rage, we cling to Him, knowing that He is our refuge. Resilience means trusting God even when circumstances seem bleak. It means standing firm in our convictions, even when the world opposes us. Like a tree planted by streams of water (Psalm 1:3), we keep drawing sustenance from God’s Word, growing stronger despite life’s challenges.

To live the Christian life effectively, we fix our eyes on Jesus—the author and perfecter of our faith. We study His life, meditate on His teachings, and seek His presence. We pray, worship, and fellowship with other believers. We allow His love to transform us from the inside out. In a world that tempts us to compromise, we remain steadfast. We choose love over hatred, forgiveness over bitterness, and humility over pride. We follow Jesus, not as distant admirers, but as devoted disciples.

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael.

Our Father and our God, we bless you for your Divine Life that is at work in us. Help us daily to crucify the flesh that your Life may find expression through us. In Jesus’ name we pray.
