HALLELUYAH! HALLELUYAH!! HALLELUYAH!!!
RELEASE DATE: November 16, 2020
WEEK: 47 (November 16 – 22, 2020)
WEEKLY BIBLE READING: Psalm 1: 4-5
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore, the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
INTERPRETATION:
How much does the Lord detest the wicked? The ways of the wicked are destructive in nature and their end is eternal damnation. From the first statement “Not so the wicked” is an inference drawn from previous verse that implies that the wicked will not yield its fruits in its season, whatever he/she does will never prosper and that its leaf will wither (this connotes spiritual death) and this characteristic is similar to that of chaff. Remember that both withered or dried leaf and chaff are both dry, light-weight and unattached, hence they are rootless and can easily be blown away by the storms of life.
The position of the wicked is a CURSED state to be in, not cursed by man or woman but by God. The question is why will anyone want to be in this position? The scriptures made it clear to us that the wicked are inhabited by the evil spirit that causes them to do wicked things and when the evil spirit is done with them, it leaves them with the repercussions of their actions. That is why the bible concludes that “evil shall slay the wicked”.
PRAYER:
Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael to you O lord we raise our voices this day and put before you this week and beyond, we pray that your mighty hands protect and guard us, our children, families and friends from the wicked of this world. No weapon fashioned against us shall prosper and continue to build your powerful and spiritually fortified wall around us. As the mountain surrounds Jerusalem, we pray that you surround us all around in Jesus Christ name we have prayed.
Footnote: “Evil shall slay the wicked, the foes of the righteous will be condemned”
“Isaiah 59:1 – Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear”
