RELEASE DATE: MAY 30, 2021
WEEK 22: (May 30 – June 5, 2021)
WEEKLY BIBLE READINGS:
Act 10:43
“To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”
INTERPRETATION
Paul in his epistle to the Romans, he mentioned that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This is absolutely true even till this day because sin dominates the nature of man. Since the fall of man in the garden, sin has permeated every facets of human existence and it has technically become inseparable from both the physiological and physical make up of humans. Sin is what separate us from God, it’s damaging and for the unredeemed, it is damning. Many nations are under bondage because of the sins of the unrighteous; Israelites suffered for many years because of their sin of apostasy.
While it’s almost impossible not to sin, the scripture attests that all our attempts at being righteous are like filthy rags because they are tainted by our sinful motives. How then can we walk without the head shaking?
It’s not of work, it’s by grace that we are saved through faith in Christ Jesus. This encapsulates the works of Jesus Christ when he walked/worked on earth. For as many that believe his name shall receive the remission of sin, that is the word for this week. Jesus Christ came, was crucified, buried and resurrected; this journey is a finished work of salvation.
The sins we have committed including the ones we are about to commit have been forgiven because of the finished work of salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Although, this is never a license to continue in sin. Paul says shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? No, it should never be. The book of Proverbs explained to us that the wicked will not go unpunished… This was exemplified in the story of David, despite being described as a man after God’s heart.
The forgiveness is everly available. What then do we need to access this forgiveness? By believing in the name of Jesus Christ and that he died for our sins, that’s all we need.
PRAYER
Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael, the scripture says forgiveness is with you Lord so that we might fear you; we pray this day that you forgive us of all our sins, we receive forgiveness today, our nation receive forgiveness. We now pray that you show us mercy, have mercy on us, Lord have mercy on our lands and the spirit to run away from sin you release unto us; strengthen us to detest the devil and its handiworks. Glory to your holy name. In Jesus Christ name we have prayed. AMEN.
Thank you and God bless. Shalom!
