WEEKLY BIBLE READINGS:

Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

INTERPRETATION

Trust is “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone”. To trust in the Lord is to totally rely on Him. Life is unpredictable. There are ups and downs along the way. Many of us want to trust God. When times are good, it can feel easier. But when times feel difficult, it is even more important to trust God. Remember Abraham, the Israelites, among other instances of people in the scriptures that trust in God!

Life can be going along smoothly for a season. Your job is satisfying. Your friends and family are enjoyable. Your goals, finances, health and outlook seem bright. Then, all of a sudden, life takes a turn. Someone you know gets sick. You lose your job. A friend or family member betrays you. The things you felt secure in all of a sudden feel shaky and uncertain, especially in the world of today where there are so many uncertainties – a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world.

How do you trust that God is good in these circumstances? How do you trust Him when you do not understand what is happening? When you cannot see a resolution? These are valid questions, and God wants to help you navigate them.

God knows better than we do; with God, all things are possible; he is worthy of our trust; he knows what he is doing. He knows the desires of your heart. If you trust in him with the things that you want most, he will take care of them. He knows what is best for your life. If you feel like your goals are hard to achieve or even impossible, think again. Anything is possible with God.

Also, God knows exactly what he wants for your life. He has a purpose for you and has everything planned out. He knows who you are going to marry, how many kids you are going to have, what job you will have and every other detail of your life, both big and small. He knows what you are going to do tomorrow, next month and years down the road. Do not doubt his plan, because he knows all and he has a perfect plan.

Beloved, having faith is having trust. You have to trust with your entire being that God has your back and that he will help you and take care of you. He knows what is best, but to truly embrace what he has planned for you, you have to fully trust. Get to know the character of God and your joy and willingness to trust in Him will abound.

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael, Our Father and Our Lord, thank you for your Word. Forgive us our sins and have mercy on us. Help us to trust in you, have absolute trust in you only. Strengthen our minds to always follow what is true at all times. Give us the spirit to rely on you always and empower us with a resilient spirit to stay on your path even during difficult times. This and many more I ask for through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you and God bless. Shalom.
