INTERPRETATION

As believers, we are called to a life of unwavering faith in Jesus Christ—a faith that not only sustains us but also empowers us to overcome trials and opposition. The Apostle Paul’s words to Timothy capture this truth perfectly: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called…” (1 Timothy 6:12). This charge serves as a reminder that the Christian journey is not without battles, but it is one we are equipped to win when we stand firmly in our faith.

Faith in Jesus is the foundation of our Christian walk. It is through faith that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8), justified (Romans 5:1), and able to please God (Hebrews 11:6). However, this faith is not passive. It requires active participation—holding tightly to the promises of God, even when circumstances seem contrary. The Bible makes it clear that opposition is inevitable. Jesus Himself said, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). As His followers, we are not immune to challenges, but we are assured of victory through Christ. Our faith, therefore, must remain steadfast, rooted in the unchanging Word of God, and unshaken by the storms of life.

The story of Abraham is a powerful example of fighting the good fight of faith. In Genesis 12, God called Abraham to leave his homeland and promised to make him a great nation. Despite the uncertainties and the long wait for the fulfillment of God’s promise, Abraham believed. Romans 4:20-21 says, “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” Abraham’s faith remained unshaken, and God rewarded him for his steadfastness.

The fight of faith is not an easy one, but it is a worthy one. Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:7 inspire us: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Like Paul, we are called to finish strong, knowing that our labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). Whatever challenges you may be facing, remember that God is faithful. He has given you His Word, His Spirit, and His promises to equip you for victory. Stand firm, hold on to your faith, and trust that He who called you is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael.

Dear Father, we ask that you fill our hearts with the Spirit of Faith once again. Make us stand firm in our convictions according to your word in all our dealings. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
