INTERPRETATION

The life of a believer is a journey of faith, and at its core is the principle of living in obedience to spiritual instructions. God, in His infinite wisdom, desires that His children live according to His will, walking in alignment with His divine purposes. As Proverbs 3:5-6 exhorts, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This verse encapsulates the essence of living by spiritual instructions: trusting God completely and seeking His guidance in all aspects of life.

From the very beginning, God has called His people to a life of dependence on Him. In Genesis 12:1-4, God instructed Abram to leave his country, his people, and his father’s household and go to a land He would show him. Despite not knowing the destination, Abram obeyed, trusting in God’s promise. His obedience set the stage for him to become the father of many nations. Abram’s story reminds us that living by spiritual instructions often requires faith, courage, and a willingness to relinquish control.

Similarly, the life of Jesus Christ, our ultimate example, was marked by complete submission to God’s will. In John 5:19, Jesus declared, “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” This teaches us that every action of the believer should be guided by God’s direction, ensuring that we are aligned with His plans.

For the believer, the Holy Spirit is the primary source of divine instructions. Jesus promised in John 16:13, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.” The Holy Spirit dwells within us, providing guidance, conviction, and clarity in our daily lives.

One striking example of the Holy Spirit’s leading is found in Acts 8:26-40, where Philip was instructed by an angel of the Lord to go to the desert road. There, he encountered the Ethiopian eunuch reading the book of Isaiah. Philip, prompted by the Spirit, explained the Scriptures and led the man to Christ. This account demonstrates how living by spiritual instructions can position us to fulfill God’s purpose and impact lives.

Living by spiritual instructions extends to every area of the believer’s life—relationships, career, finances, and ministry. A classic example is Joseph, who received divine instructions through dreams (Genesis 37:5-11). Though his journey was filled with trials, his faithfulness to God’s guidance eventually positioned him to save nations from famine.

As believers, we are called to live in total dependence on God’s guidance. By trusting in His Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit, and obeying His instructions, we position ourselves for success and significance. Let us, like Jesus, say, “Not my will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Living by spiritual instructions is not merely a requirement; it is a privilege that leads us into the fullness of God’s purpose for our lives.

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael.

Dear Father, we ask that you make us more sensitive to your Will. Cause us to live every day of our lives in total obedience to you. Make our lives align perfectly to your purpose in Jesus’ name.
