INTERPRETATION

One of the realities that the sacrifices of Jesus procured for us is the identity of sainthood. Many do not realize this and therefore find themselves walking below the possibilities of this reality. No one can walk above the realities that he is yet to conceive in his mind. Even if you accidentally bump into such reality, you will realize that you’re unable to sustain that level of result because you did not conscientiously derive the result initially. This is true even for spiritual things. There are many believers today who find themselves struggling with so many things and they are wondering why they have remained struggling for so long at certain levels. Some came into the kingdom with great joy and readiness to begin to enjoy the blessed realities of redemption only to find themselves struggling in sin for so long until they conclude that living a sinless life is impossible. However, there’s a solution for this in the scriptures.

The first step to walking consistently in spiritual realities is to find out if that reality is part of the things that are made available to you in Christ. Sainthood is well made available in the package of redemption. In First Corinthians chapter 1 verse 2, Apostle Paul records that we were called to be saints in Christ. This means that sainthood is not an impossible feat. God can not call us to be something that is impossible to attain. He wouldn’t have called us to be saints if He wasn’t ready to provide all that is needed for us to walk in that reality. But many are not even aware that sainthood is their reality in Christ. So today, you find believers jesting about other believers who are living like “saints”. The saint tag has been reserved for only a set of people who live in a particular way meanwhile this ought to be the reality of every man that is saved.

By salvation, we were washed clean with the precious Blood of Jesus. We were cleansed from our old lives and all the elements that pertain to them. We were given a new identity in Christ because we identified with Him in His death. Our sins were nailed to the Cross. Then, we also identified with Him in His resurrection and we rose into a new life the same way Jesus rose a new Being when He marched majestically out of hell. God took us through all of these processes so that we may live a new life. How sad would it be if believers go through all these experiences and still have the consciousness of sin which is a reality of the old life from which they have been purged?

What then were we saved from if after we have been saved we still live as filthy as those who are yet to be saved? God saved us and had mercy on us even while we were in our sins so that he could give us a new life. He made sacrifices for us even when we did not deserve it so that we could conform to the identity of newness according to righteousness and holiness. Now he expects us to walk worthy of the calling that we have been called and not make the sacrifices of Jesus go in vain over us.

PRAYER

Jehovah, Jesus Christ, Holy Michael.

Our Father and our God, we ask that you will keep us conscious of the holy calling that we have received. Help us to live indeed as saints and keep us in your will always by the power of the Cross. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
